Nido Montessori is a trilingual English-Catalan-Spanish centre founded in 2015 and located in the neighbourhood of Gracia, in Barcelona. We are dedicated to providing an authentic Montessori environment for children 18 months to 6 years of age. Our innovative Montessori centre has seen steady growth since its opening and we expect to offer new programs in the near future.
At Nido Montessori we pride ourselves in our expertise in Montessori. All our guides are certified by AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) on top of having official teaching degrees. Nido is supported by psychologists and neuroscientists and we strive to foster practices of educational excellence.
We understand education as a continuum that should, ideally, last throughout all our lives. During the first years of life, the foundations of a child’s personality and brain are set and our educational goal is for each child to reach their full potential. To achieve that, we offer two different environments that suit the different developmental needs of children aged 18 Months-3 and 3-6. We believe in self-construction as the fundamental power of the developing child; thus, our environments cultivate diversity in all aspects and offer the child countless opportunities to explore. We want independent, happy children who become adults that make meaningful contributions to the society of tomorrow.
Our trilingual environment follows the one person one language philosophy which, working together with the absorbent mind the children have at this age, allows them to internalize English, Catalan and Spanish in the most natural and effective way. Our staff is fluent in English, Catalan, Spanish and also French which makes the children’s transition to the centre as smooth as possible.
Nido Montessori has a stunning garden that, weather permitting, allows children to take their materials outside and get daily fresh air. Children have allotted garden time daily where they play freely and socialize with each other.
After school hours, we provide a space for older children to participate through clubs or creative workshops such as Robotics, Programming or the Suzuki method for violin learning.
We founded Nido for our daughter who happily attends every day. We want the very best for our child just as you do for yours.
Nido is currently in the process of being an accredited centre from the National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA http://www.ndna.org.uk/) which will allow Nido to have an international recognition with high standards.
