Our center

Nido Montessori Center started in 2015 as a single space for children aged from 0 – 3. As demand grew quickly and two more premises became available next door, we decided to amplify our space. We now have two individual spaces. Our original space is dedicated to Infant Community, for children from the time they can walk in a stable way (approximately 15 months), until 3 years of age. The second space is dedicated to children from 3 to 6 years of age.

The layout of our center maximises independence from the start. All the classrooms are equipped with materials recognised by the AMI (Association Montessori Internacional) and we have an average ratio of 1 adult for every 6 children.

Practical life activities form an important part of the day, and children are involved in making bread, sweeping and cleaning the environment and preparing snacks. For older children, we also offer the opportunity to learn to read and write in English, Spanish or Catalan, depending on the child’s native language. Children also learn maths, geography and science following the Montessori method.

Our garden encourages children to interact with each other and develop physically. We do not encourage the use of plastic toys and our garden is equipped with an age appropriate assault course, sandpit and both paved and grassed areas, in order to offer different areas for children to play and use.

The small house or “caseta” is designed to be an area dedicated to gardening, arts and craft. The children use the material in there in order to explore nature and art, either in the garden or within one of our spaces.

During our school closure, our staff and students will be continuing with learning using our virtual platforms. We still celebrate a daily circle time for all our families and we have a wide range of activities that your children can enjoy and help to bring some routine to your day! Our Admissions administration will also continue to work virtually such that applicants can continue with new and pending applications. We thank you for your patience while we respond to your enquiry!
