Dear Parents, Estimades famílies,
Firstly, please accept our apologies for the delay in sending out information for next year. We have been very busy since our opening but we have finalised the plans for next year and we are now ready to open visits and inscriptions for 2016-2017.
We are very happy to announce that Nido is growing and the current plan will allow us to almost double our working space! Please see below for information about our Children’s House, Daily Routine, Organic Lunch and Snacks, Prices, Visits and Spaces Available.
Establishment of Children´s House
We are delighted to announce that we will have a separate space dedicated to our 3 – 6 year olds. The main language of the Children´s House will be English. Catalan will still be widely spoken throughout Nido and the Infant Community will remain bilingual.
As you may know, in a Montessori environment, children move to the Children’s House at around 36 months. The exact date depends on many factors, but primarily the individual child´s readiness to move to the new environment. This space will be designated to our new 3 – 6 year olds, and contain all the specialized Montessori material necessary for their learning and development.
The Daily Routine
Nido will be open from 8:45 until 16:45. Families who wish to come before 8:45 can participate in Breakfast Club, which will start at 08:00 every day.
Children are required to be at the center by 9am, after which the bell will be disconnected so that children can move freely in the whole space and complete an uninterrupted three hour work-cycle.
Lunch will be served between 11:45 and 13:00, with younger children starting first.
Organic Lunch and Snacks
A morning and afternoon buffet of organic fruits will be available in the kitchen for children to prepare and eat whenever they are hungry. Not only will this help them to self regulate their hunger, it will also help us to provide an uninterrupted work-cycle.
All children will be provided with an organic lunch which they will help to serve. Children will all be offered the same food at lunchtime and this rotates on a 6-week basis. This means that they get to sample a wide variety of foods, whilst catering for any dietary requirements.
The organic fruit buffets and lunch are all included in the quota shown below.
Our prices for the next academic year are detailed below. Please be advised that all prices include Organic Catering and are for full-time positions.

Visits to the Center
All visits will be made at 17:00 on weekdays. Visits will be made in groups of up to four families, therefore if possible we ask you to come without children. Visits on Monday and Tuesday will be in English, and on Wednesday and Friday in Spanish. Visits from the 4th to the 15th April are tailored for inscriptions into the Infant Community (18 to 36 months old) and from the 19th to the 29th for inscriptions into the Children’s House (36 to 72 months).
In order to avoid oversubscription of visits (we have learnt from our mistakes!), visits are limited. Should you find that there are no visits left, please check back at a later date as we may add more visits depending on the rate of inscription.
Currently the spaces available are:
18 to 21 months = 3 spaces
21 to 28 months = 3 spaces
28 to 36 months = 5 spaces
36 to 48 months = 2 spaces
48 to 60 months = 4 spaces
60 to 72 months = 5 spaces
